Bamboo Compost Bin

With lots of fruit & veg scraps, coffee grounds, and house plant trimmings moving through our kitchen every day, my husband and I wanted a compost bin that would be good looking enough to sit out on the counter all day long. This one fits the bill! The color is lovely, it fits a couple of days worth of scraps (unless there's a veg-heavy dinner--then it's full after one meal prep), and looks great out on the counter. The handle does feel a little bit flimsy for the heavier days, but a hand on the bottom on the bin (and not overfilling) seems to do the trick. For other reviewers complaining about smell...it's compost! I find that between the filter and regular emptying (with a rinse out afterward) goes a long way for keeping down odors.

This is just what I was looking for. Overall, it's very nice looking and the quality seems great. My one concern is very the bamboo handle. I sort of wish it didn't have the handle or the handle was a different material, then I'd be able to clean it more easily. I'm concerned about the bamboo warping or aging, so I'm careful not to get to too wet.

This is a gorgeous product. I received compliments on its design and usefulness but after a week or so of pretty light use, I noticed after emptying it that one of the handle rivets was missing and the handle was hanging. I have emailed customer service asking about my options but have not yet had a reply. I’m hoping that there’s a simple but sturdy fix.
