The story's in the details.

Vintage copper lends an easy, warm elegance to any home without all the stuffiness. This stunning collection of one-of-a-kind finds from Coppermill Kitchen has been well-loved for generations, and now you can only get it here at Food52. A few notes on this bain marie: Both the pan and the lid are stamped with "L. BARBELLION," which looks like it's been rubbed off the exterior of the lid (but you can still see the mark inside). The lid is also stamped with the initials "A.D." but one of the D's looks as though it was mistakenly stamped in the wrong direction, then corrected. Tiny details, yes, but they point to a rich, interesting history. This piece was crafted circa 1880 and features an overlapping, fitted lid with a heavy iron straight keyhole handle as well as dovetailed seams up one side.

All items from Coppermill Kitchen are final sale. Items may vary slightly from what is pictured.
