Once upon a time, Gefu employee Rudolf Schillheim was looking for a way to create longer julienne strands of his favorite foods in the kitchen. Then one day he was sharpening a pencil and—voilà!—this clever gadget was born. It creates spaghetti-like pieces of carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, or whatever else you decide (shoestring fries, anyone?). And with two different sized blades, it offers twice the spiralizing fun. It even comes with an attachable holder that keeps any vegetable in its place. When you’re done, use the handy brush it comes with to clean, and then toss it in the dishwasher.
