Pass it around.

There’s a reason this gravy boat and saucer duo looks like a modern classic: It comes straight from Russel Wright’s very-popular dinnerware line, which just so happens to include the best-selling American ceramic dishes of all time (yes, you read that right). It’s sized just-right to serve up sauces of all kinds, with a sturdy build that can hop right in the microwave, no problem. We can picture it playing a supporting role next to a big ol' bowl of mashed potatoes. The thick earthenware helps to keep sauces warm while the little saucer catches spills. And in those eye-candy shades? Don’t be surprised if it steals all the attention at the table.

We owe Bauer Pottery and Russel Wright a debt of gratitude for making our Thanksgivings and holiday meals (and weeknight roasts) all the better with this rustic earthenware gravy boat and saucer.

But about those potatoes...

Meet the Maker

Bauer Pottery

Highland, CA
Decades of history are baked into these ceramic pieces from Bauer Pottery. Take their classic mid-century modern designs, for example—they’re Hollywood hot and California cool. An essential figure in their work was the famed industrial designer Russel Wright, who believed that the table was the center of the home (we’re inclined to agree). Wright was immensely influential in bringing modern design to American homes. Though the Bauer brand was shuttered in the 1960s, it was revived in 1998 and the iconic Russel Wright ceramics designs have been brought back to life. Today, it’s still the most widely sold American dinnerware ever in history.
