For your home-turned-brewery.

Yes, homemade beer is possible, and this handy starter kit from Brooklyn Brew Shop will show you how. It has all the equipment you need to brew a one-gallon, all-grain batch of beer: a glass fermentation jug, a thermometer, a screw-cap stopper, tubing, an airlock, a racking cane and tip, cleanser to keep things sanitized, plus all-grain ingredient mix, hops, and beer-making yeast. All those tools are happily reusable, so you can keep the brewing going once you’ve learned the ropes. There’s craft flavors of all kinds to try here, including stout and IPA. We’ll let you get to it.

Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast Stout is an award-winning favorite, so Brooklyn Brew Shop teamed up with Mikkeller to help you make it at home. The result is amazingly rich with plenty of smooth coffee flavor.

New England IPA? is teeming with juicy fruit flavor, thanks to the Mosaic and Cascade hops packed inside. It’s lightly bitter with a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. As for how it looks? Plenty hazy.

Grapefruit Honey Ale is a pale ale for all you bright beer lovers out there. It’s light, citrusy, and refreshing—and made with Belgian candi sugar and grapefruit rinds for good measure.

Stillwater Gose Gone Wild is brought to you by a collaboration between Brooklyn Brew Shop and Stillwater Artisanal Ales. It’s funky and complex and gets its signature sour flavor from lactobacillus (yep, that’s included).

Afternoon Wheat is a light-bodied and easy-drinking wheat beer that you could sip on all day long if you pleased. Golding hops give it a refreshingly floral aroma.

Meet the Maker

Brooklyn Brew Shop

Brooklyn, NY
Erica Shea and Stephen Valand started the Brooklyn Brew Shop in 2009, selling from a stand at the popular Brooklyn Flea. Understanding the small confines of apartments in NYC, the kit they designed is easy to use and fits in even the tiniest of homes. Find out for yourself how simple, tasty, and—most importantly—how fun it is to make your own brews.
