A Shop Announcement!

by:
February 11, 2015

Nearly 18 months ago, we launched Provisions, our curated kitchen and home shop. Like we did with Food52, we created Provisions as a place where we ourselves wanted to hang out and explore. It's where we gather the most beautiful and functional wares for your kitchen, pantry, and home -- all to help you cook and live better.

Food52 Collateral

Our vision to be the one-stop-shop for all of your cooking and home needs came to life when when we launched our shop. And after a year and a half of watching, and listening to all of you, we've decided to rename it: instead of Provisions, from now on we'll call it the Food52 Shop. We’ll miss the name Provisions, but we’re even more attached to the name Food52 (in fact, we’re so proud of it that our entire company now sports Food52-branded phone cases). From what we hear, you're pretty attached to it too.

It’s important to us that our shop retains the sense of community that makes Food52 so special. This is why we make sure to include as many of our favorite small makers as we can, and we're always happy to hear about others you love. And as we’ve expanded the shop, we’ve focused on integrating it more deeply with the rest of the site. On the product page for this cake stand, you can find some of our favorite cake recipes and an article on frosting tips. When we write about making a Champagne cocktail, we’ll link to the fabulous coupes we used in the photo.

Over the next few months, you’ll see some other changes on Food52 too. We’ll be launching more exclusive products and design collaborations and hosting more in-person events (come see us!).

You’ll also find more articles covering home and design. We want to help you organize, show you how to upgrade your space with DIY projects, and inspire you with features on great kitchens and homes. We also want to bring to life the stories behind the makers who create the wonderful products we carry, so that you can see why we've chosen them and how they might earn a place in your home.

Looking ahead, we'll be focused completely on giving you everything you need for your cooking and home life -- all in one place, under one familiar name. As always, you'll be able to come to Food52, and in one visit find a great pasta recipe for dinner, articles on which pasta shape to choose and how to cook it perfectly, and a gorgeous porcelain bowl for serving it at dinner.

Stay tuned for a (joy)full year ahead!

Arrrrgh.....No more of those darling "provisions" recipe/postcards???? I used my last ones for lunch invitations to girlfriends. I'll miss them.

I love the Food52 aesthetic, so I'm excited to hear you're broadening the scope of things to include home and design coverage. Looking forward to it!

I'm so excited to read the stories of those who make the products you sell. It will make them just that much more meaningful in my kitchen.

Exciting news! A suggestion: I would *love* it if you could start tagging recipes/ingredients. I realise what a significant undertaking this is, but there's a large audience of food lovers and home cooks that want or need to eat within certain guidelines. Take me for example: I'm a huge fan of food52 but when I do the occasional paleo/whole30 reset I'd love to have food resources beyond the Paleo/primal community...and I don't find it easy to search/use food52 when I'm abstaining from dairy, grains, legumes, sugar. I guess what I'm saying is that as a mid-40 year old woman who still likes to crush it (rock climbing, lifting, running) *and* also cook, food52 only partially works for me. And this makes me sad because I really love y'all.
