Fish and Veggies isn't just about fish and veggies. In fact, those virtuous food groups may (or may not) be blogger and food52er CatherineJagers' favorites, but she throws in plenty of rich desserts and perfectly seared steaks, for balance. Recipes for pork and kimchi dumplings, raspberry gratin, grilled ribeyes, and her Colombian grandmother's arroz con pollo are scattered amongst plenty of veggie and seafood options like whipped sweet potatoes with brown sugar, grilled mussels in awesome sauce (awesome sauce!), and honey mustard catfish.

Jagers is an enthusiastic food52er and has beautifully documented testing lots of recipes from the site, like Tangy Teriyaki Salmon, Overnight Apple-Cinnamon French Toast, and Grill-Roasted Meatloaf. It's always fun to see step-by-step photos of fellow members' recipes, and her clean web design and alluringly giant photos are gorgeous, with a little help from the man in her life: John Tornow, a skilled web developer and photographer.

Fish and Veggies posts are refreshing in their brevity. Short and to the point, they're easy to take in quickly, and yet Jagers's sense of humor and gentle irony never fail to come through. We'll take a serving a day, please.
