Wow, I use a different one but it comes in the same kind of container with a yellow, green and red label. It has not turned my food alarmingly or ugly brown. Tamicon, Panipuri Paste, Tamarind Concentrate; imported by Frespo food Products: NH5, Golapur, Cuttack-753001, India. e-mail: [email protected]. It is, of course, very sour and does not have the "flowery" undertones of tamarind that you buy in a block with the seeds and reconstitute and then strain carefully. But sure is convenient! It is essential in one of our favorite recipes: Deborah Madison's Coconut Curry with Tofu and Lime (This Can't Be Tofu!).

Theres a much lighter pulpier brand (its Lakshmi I believe) that comes in glass jars.. No comparison to soaking & squeezing out the pulp from pods but definitely better than the dark color of the paste..
