After the Flood  After the Flood

Every week, chef/activist Daniel Klein and cameragirl Mirra Fine of The Perennial Plate are sharing the videos and recipes from their cross-country real food road trip with us.

This week, they interrupt their trip to visit two upstate New York farms hit hard by Hurricane Irene. "Late summer," as David explains, "is the most important part of the year for a lot of farmers, and when that gets wiped out, it's like losing your entire income. Such is the story in this video of a couple farmers with huge losses."

Suzanne is a trusted source on General Cooking.

Several of the farmers that I have gotten to know at the Ft Greene farmers market were severely impacted by Hurricane Irene, their crops obliterated. This is a wonderful piece thank you for posting it.
