10 Desserts with 5 Ingredients (Or Fewer!)

November  8, 2011

Don't get us wrong -- we love our layer cakes, pastries, and pies over here. But as simple weeknight desserts (or midday snacks, for that matter) they can be daunting tasks.

Here, then, are 10 delicious, dinner-party worthy desserts -- including ice creams, tarts and puddings -- that are five ingredients or fewer. Because sometimes you just want some dessert, without all that fuss.

Simple, but so satisfying and elegantly presented.

I have lost count of how many of Mary's lemon tarts and Liz's lemon possets I have served to guests.

Thanks for this great 5 Ingredient line up. I can attest that Merrill's Mother's cookies are delicious, as is Lazy Mary's Lemon Tart, which graced us with its presence, courtesy of wssmom, at the Food52 Metro Potluck Party hosted by sdebrango. Lemon Posset is in rotation this week at ChezBevi.

I can now vouch for the baked apples - wildcard win. They are so delicious and too easy to not make!
