The kitchen is often a place of repose. It is easy to pull up a stool and act as a spectator as the meal preparation unfolds (or to open the door of the freezer and pull out a pint of ice cream). The kitchen sees us at our best and our worst. So why do we spend so much time in a space that is often so drab? The kitchens I have cooked in have all been some combination of white, gray, stainless steel, and wood. I often find myself asking, where's the color?!

Well, if you are looking to be inspired, check out these 10 colorful kitchens from Apartment Therapy. They have compiled some of the most beautiful, the wackiest, and the most colorful kitchens known to man. From yellow walls to orange countertops, to lime green cabinetry, if you are looking for color inspiration in your kitchen, look no further.

I love nothing more than a summer tomato (maybe add some balsamic, basil, and home-made mozz). In my free-time, I cook, read about cooking, farm, read about farming, and eat. Food is a basic necessity, but good food ought to be a fundamental right.
