Let's Talk About Ice Cream

May 22, 2012

Not that warm weather is the only justification for their consumption, but the sun always helps in matters concerning frozen confections. We’ve already had more than a few ice-cream worthy days, and with June fast approaching, we figure it's probably time that we talk about ice cream.

In a very timely move, The Kitchn has dubbed this week ice cream week over at their site, and we’re happy they did. They provide a roundup of their 15 all-time favorite frozen flavors, from the neopolitan classics, to the more unusual, like Buttery Popcorn and Rose Geranium with Pistachios.

And, since they think of everything, for when you’re done eating straight out of the ice-cream maker (and licking the spatula) they give us a list of the best ice cream scoops. (If you don’t have one with a heat-conducting handle, consider yourself ill-prepared for summer.) Because perfectly-shaped scoops and great wrist leverage should be high on your priority list, come July.

I have a thing for most foods topped with a fried egg, a strange disdain for overly soupy tomato sauce, and I can never make it home without ripping off the end of a newly-bought baguette. I like spoons very much.
