Welcome to FOOD52's Recipe Writing Week, where we'll be answering all of those questions -- and then some. Each day, we'll feature one (or more!) special features about all things reclpe-related, plus tips and insight from the best in the business.

pierino is a trusted source on General Cooking and Tough Love.

This is fun as food history is one of my favorite subjects:

Spaghetti and meatballs= New York, post 1900, although you find similar things in Naples but with tiny polpette.
General Tso's chicken= I think the answers listed are incorrect. It should be Taipei, afterward adapted over here. See THE FORTUNE COOKIE CHRONICLES by Jennifer 8. Lee (yes 8. is her really her middle name). Chapter "The Long March of General Tso".
Cobb salad= Los Angeles (I think it was the Brown Derby)
Hamburger= New York, late 19th Century, Delmonico I think.
Green Bean Casserole= Probably Ohio. That's their kind of food. These are the people who put "chili" on maccaroni.

Best selling cook book: Joy of Cooking.

I think aargersi and Rivka are right about the pilaf. And I think all those community cookbook titles are real.

Although it is new I think 'Absurdly Adictive Asparagus" would be the most viewed.

This is gonna be great! I bet the most often viewed recipe is the one pot kale and quinoa - because I see that go by a LOT!
