Avoid The Hassle - Cooking Corn

This one combines two of my favorite things: kitchen tips, and YouTube sensations. Meet Ken. Ken is a highly practical chef whose channel features advice and tips on cooking. In this video, he teaches us how to cook corn without the mess of shucking, and without the difficulty of picking the silky threads from in between the kernels.

Simply place two ears in the microwave (husk and all), and let her rip for 8 minutes. When you're done, cut off the entire backside of the corn and let the cob slip out - perfectly cooked, and completely without silk. We can't wait to try it.

I love nothing more than a summer tomato (maybe add some balsamic, basil, and home-made mozz). In my free-time, I cook, read about cooking, farm, read about farming, and eat. Food is a basic necessity, but good food ought to be a fundamental right.

Great trick! Tried it last night and it worked perfectly. I will never boil water for corn again.

I used this method with our corn tonight and it worked perfectly for three of our four ears of corn (cooked two at a time). With the other, I just peeled off the husk, but it was sooo easy and the silk came right off, too. Quite a neat trick and super nice on a hot day. Thanks!
