Our First Sunday Supper

by:
January 26, 2010

Recently, we found out about a great new site called Hot Potato, which helps people find and participate in group events -- either in person or online. This Sunday, at 6 pm ET, we'll be hosting an online cooking event. We'll choose a food52 recipe and then make it, each in our own kitchen, sharing notes and photos as we cook. We hope you'll join us from your own kitchens! If we can get people interested, and if everyone has fun interacting on Hot Potato, we plan to continue these Sunday Suppers on a regular basis.

We'll announce the recipe tomorrow so that you have plenty of time to plan and shop. Stay tuned!

See what other Food52 readers are saying.

Help, hard to admit but I am still struggling to learn how to post photos - anywhere. Hired a computer guru and will try soon. Am I the only one who is intimidated by the gorgeous photos on food52? Gosh, now we go to video?

Don't worry! You can also just add comments as you cook -- we'll all be together in the same boat.

This sounds really cool! I'm usually cooking at home on Sundays so I hope I can make it...and maybe I'll invite over a few friends too.

Amanda and Merrill, I look forward to this. I love that you collaborate and cook together! If I lived in Brooklyn I would've applied to your job posting in a New York minute. Your site is terrific and gives something different and exciting to its readers than many other food blogs because of its collaborative nature (the two of you interacting with each other and the e-universe.) It will be interesting to see how this works. It should be fun!

Thank you so much for your kind words! We're so happy to have enthusiastic readers and cooks like you on the site. Hope this Hot Potato cooking event is fun for all!

Yes please! Is this an excuse for us to buy matching pots (ideally the ones shown in the picture above)

Now, this is certainly incentive to get my wireless/network/computer woes fixed by Sunday. Sounds like fun! When would you post what we're cooking?

Merrill S. January 26, 2010
Tomorrow morning!

Do you think Sasha could pick out a wine for our supper?

That is a fantastic idea, We'll ask her!

Sounds like fun! Though it'll be 4 a.m. here and I'll most likely just be rolling in from a hen party. A perfect, albeit slightly dangerous, situation for dinner. Have fun!
