Missing Maple Reserves

September 11, 2012

In case you haven't already heard, an enormous amount of maple syrup was stolen last week in Quebec, Canada. And by enormous, we mean 10 million pounds. During a regular inventory check, The Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers noticed something was missing -- roughly 15,000 barrels of maple syrup, that is! After much investigation, the sneaky burglars seem to have left no trace. To put this into perspective: the warehouse in question holds "nearly the equivalent of half the entire U.S. production of maple syrup in a year."

But apparently this isn't the first time maple syrup has disappeared from Quebec. If they ever do find the missing syrup, pancakes might be in order.
