Life-Changing Food Innovations

Usually, we're pretty skeptical of "Top ___ Of All Time" lists. There's just too much out there to sufficiently gather enough content. But The Huffington Post's Top 20 Food and Drink Innovations Of All Time is an exception. Chosen by the U.K.'s national academy of science, the list highlights innovations such as frying and the cork to remind us how lucky we are to be able to fry potatoes or no longer have to top our wine bottles with oil-soaked rags.

What's really remarkable are the innovations that come so naturally to us in modern times, like irrigation, or even something as simple as leavening bread. Imagine being the first to do such things! We owe great thanks to the items on this list -- first one we're thanking? The refrigerator. What's the one food or drink innovation you can't live without?
