Community Picks Recipe Testing
Community Picks -- Shellfish
It's that time again -- help us pick the contest finalists for Your Best Shellfish!
Any Food52 member is welcome to help us test our Community Pick candidates, so go call dibs on the recipe you'd like to test that is in the list below! We'd love to see some new testers in the mix -- remember, we're accepting up to 3 testers per recipe. And, if the recipe is worthy of a Community Pick, we'll publish the best headnote, so make your notes count! Don't forget to email us your headnote (no more than 100 words) to editors@food52.com by next Wednesday at 5pm (EST).
When you’ve figured out which recipes are calling your name, in order to sign up, all you have to do is follow the link to that recipe’s page, and on the left-hand side, you’ll see a “Test This Recipe” button. Your job is easy: just click the button, and you’ll receive a confirmation email that officially crowns you a Food52 community tester. If for some reason you decide you cannot test, simply press the button again, and your name will be removed from the list.
We'll collect your comments, name the finalists and official Community Picks and publish the best headnote for each Community Pick (with credit, of course!). If the recipe you test isn't chosen as a Community Pick, please feel free to leave your testing notes in the recipe's comments section. Constructive criticism is always encouraged!

Thanks for choosing my Mussels Dijonnaise for testing. I hope the tester (and friends) like them as much as we do.

too bad I'm just seeing this now. I would love to test the Fried Scallop Sandwich, but I know I can't get to it before Wednesday. I WILL be making it FOR SURE, however. Love the flavor combination!

Hi ChefJune! If you do give it a try some time, please do let me know what you think. It was one of my first attempts at fried seafood! :)

fiveandspice: I will definitely be making these. Just can't say when. I'll be sure to let you know, but how could it help but be fantastic? (Scallops are my all-time most favorite food.)
< It was one of my first attempts at fried seafood!> and good for you. I still laugh when I recall my first cooking class in Paris was Goujonettes of Sole with Tartar Sauce. (Here in US we'd call those Fish Sticks! -- Still, it gave new meaning to the old dish.) and that was 20 years ago!

Haha. Goujonettes, eh? I'll have to remember that. That reminds me of the book From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler, where she serves the children something she elegantly calls pates au fromage, which turns out to be nothing other than mac and cheese.

My previous efforts weren't registering, but I just tried again and all is well -- description on the recipe testing button says that I am signed up and I just got the confirmation email. So all is good.
Thanks, Kenzi!

Hmm, I seem to be having the same issue. I clicked the button and got the pop up confirmation but no email, and now I went back and it doesn't say I'm testing this anymore, though it did for a minute. Should I try again?

I have you down for the Crab Cakes, is that correct? Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the email to go through. Thanks for your patience!

Is the recipe testing button working? I just signed up to test a recipe, but I did not get an email confirmation. Nor is there a message on the recipe page saying that I am signed up to test this recipe. Thanks!

I just did a test -- it seems to be working fine! I don't see that you're registered though. Try one more time. You should get a pop-up message confirming that you've signed up, and the button should switch from saying "Test this Recipe" to "I'm Testing This." Let me know if you're still having problems!
