Back To School, Finnish-Style

School lunch (and how to make it healthy) is a hot topic these days. Perhaps we should all take a seat at Finland's lunch table, which has been serving free and balanced meals to public school children for years. If you're a New Yorker, you can. Have a taste of Finland's highly-regarded school lunches at Back To School: A Taste of Finland at the MoMA for six dates in early October.

The event is in collaboration with the Consulate General of Finland, curators of the Century of the Child: Growing by Design 1900-2000, and MoMa's Cafe 2. As if getting a sample of Scandinavian food and getting inspiration for national school lunches weren't enough, learning the close relationship between design and the lives of children is the cherry on top of this awesome event.

My two (current) favorite foods start with the letter D: doughnuts, and dumplings. If a dish has bacon in it, I will most likely eat it. If I could marry honey butter, I would.
