You throw leftover veggies on the stove to make stock. But what can you do with the scraps of apples left behind after fall pies or afternoon snacks?

Believe it or not, you can make apple cider vinegar from scratch. Fermenting is a fairly basic process, so why not give it a shot? We're wondering what effect a homemade vinegar will have on our salad dressings, but we're really curious about what overripe-banana vinegar tastes like...
