Wine bottles

This week, Sasha shares 5 strategies for choosing an excellent bottle of wine that won't break the bank. Tune in every day for a new tip!

If I had a nickel for every time someone asked me what my favorite under-$15 bottle is, well, I’d be able to buy a lot of very expensive wine. The truth is, I can’t settle on just one. There’s so much good wine out there, who could blame me for being fickle? So instead of naming names, I’ll share my general strategies for finding delicious wines at modest prices.

Shop the Story

1. Take your time. I’m a firm believer that the smaller your budget, the more time you need to shop. Visit the store when it’s relatively calm (i.e., not 5 pm on a Saturday), and you can browse the aisles at leisure.

I love this question. What I find so funny is that statistically (i am a winemake AND an engineer) you will find more good to great bottles of wine for $15 or less than you will at higher price points. Finding them is often more about whether you can actually get them, and this price point delivers every time you need!

I just hooked up with Food52 and I love the story. I write a food and wine blog and make wine at home and this site looks fantastic to help promote my adventures.

Cheers!
