Author Notes: We opted to celebrate one of our favorite guilty delights. The real meltdown is that this is good food that is not fancy, at least not really. It is a great meal that you can fix in short order and that satisfies quickly. Straightforward, robust, and instantly addictive, grilled cheese sandwiches can be endlessly toyed with to satisfy almost any palate. - Loulies
Serves 1
- Prosciutto
- Roasted asparagus
- Parmigiano-reggiano
- Mozzarella
- Ciabbata bread
- Unsalted butter
- To make this grilled cheese sandwich, place a heavy skillet (cast-iron works best) over medium heat to pre-heat. Spread sandwich with softened butter and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. If the bread is browning too quickly, simply turn the heat down until cheese has melted. Cut on the diagonal and serve hot.
