Pudding/Pie Filling

Author Notes: This is the recipe my Mom always used when she made cream pies. I use it also when my husband in craving any kind of pudding. The recipe is for vanilla but you can make it any flavor you wish. Coconut, Banana, Chocolate (add good quality cocoa pwd to the dry ingredients).lowecc

Makes 1 pie

  • 2/3 cups Sugar (granulated)
  • 3 tablespoons Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1/3 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 4 Eggs, Beaten
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  1. Combine dry ingredients (sugar - salt) in top bowl of a double boiler & mix together. Add milk & eggs, mix well. Cook over medium high heat, stirring constantly with whisk until thick. Remove from heat and add butter & vanilla. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
