Putting on the scent.

You know how a scent can bring memories flooding back? That’s exactly what these candles do for KOBO founder Junko Kobori. Inspired by her travels to remote locations around the globe, their fragrances are richly layered and expressive—and likely to inspire you to do some traveling yourself. Each one is hand-poured in Saratoga Springs, New York, using wax made of domestically and sustainably grown soybeans. (That means you can expect a clean burn and plenty of fragrance.)

Smoked Santal is rustic and masculine with smoky, creamy vanilla notes and a little spice to balance out the sweetness. Think: sandalwood, smoked vanilla, and amber.

Midnight Marrakesh has notes of spearmint, camphor, ginger, and tea, which means it just might whisk you away to Morocco.

Immortal Oolong starts with a hint of spice, then wafts notes of oolong, mate, floral jasmine, and sugary vanilla. Tea, anyone?

Meet the Maker

Kobo Candles

Schuylerville, NY
KOBO founder Junko Kobori and her husband have always been world travelers, spending years at a time exploring remote areas—then reuniting with friends and family to share their experiences. The one thing their photos didn’t capture? The scents that different places carried. Junko realized that fragrance is often overlooked, so she set out to create a line of home goods to round out our spaces (candles, for starters).
