Ingredients

2 teaspoons of sugar

2 tablespoons of flour

5 teaspoons of yeast

3/4 cups of warm water

4 cups of flour

1/2 cup of sugar

1 1/2 cups of warm water

2 tablespoons of kosher salt

1/2 cup of vegetable oil

2 eggs

2 tablespoons of sugar

2 tablespoons of poppy seeds
Directions

Put the 2 teaspoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, 5 teaspoons of yeast and 3/4 cup of warm water into a tall tumbler. Place it in a warm spot, and its ready to use when its at the top of glass.

Make the dough by mixing the remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add in the yeast mixture and blend it well.

Add in at least 3 cups of flour (probably more) and mix well.

Knead the dough for 15-20 minutes.

Put the dough into an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise 1 1/2 hours, or more if needed.

Divide the dough into 3 parts for one loaf, 6 parts for two, or 9 parts for three and braid. Place the loaves on greased baking sheet and let them rise for at least 1 hour.

Rub the loaves with the sweetened egg wash, and sprinkled with poppy seeds.

Bake at 350? for 45 minutes.
