Author Notes
Not quite an agua fresca or a granita, this summery drink is more like blended fruit on ice. Since we were going for something refreshing to cool us down after a bike ride, we kept it pretty simple--lime juice, watermelon, sugar and ice--but something tells me that, with a splash of limoncello and some lemon juice instead of lime, this could be a nice substitute for a mimosa. —dusty516

Ingredients
-
2 pounds
watermelon
-
juice of 1 1/2 limes
-
1/4 cup
sugar
-
1
tray ice cubes
Directions
-
Slice the rind off of the watermelon and cut the watermelon into small chunks.
-
Place in a pitcher and then add the lime juice, the ice cubes and the sugar.
-
Blend (we used an immersion blender, but a real blender would work just as well, if not better) until the desired consistency. I liked mine with a little icy crunch.
-
Pour the frothy drink into two summery wine glasses and feel refreshed.
