Author Notes
The story behind this recipe? One year I was in a hurry and didn't take the time to make my usual homemade pies for Thanksgiving, so I bought an apple and a pecan pie from a good local bakery. As we were about to have dinner, my hubby bumped the table and the 2 pies flew off the plate rack, crashed to the table and lay there all broken! What to do? The turkey had a half-hour to go, so I created this Mash-Up recipe on the fly, and served with vanilla bean ice-cream it became a true family HIT! You can use almost any combo of fruit pies: apple & pecan, peach & cherry, pumpkin or sweet potato and pecan, etc.--just serve warm with ice-cream and watch'em smile! —BeijingRose
