Ingredients
  • 2 cups almonds, shelled
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions
  1. Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
  2. Combine all ingredients except the almonds in a large saucepan. Heat over medium heat and stir nonstop until the sugar has melted and turned a light brown. Add the almonds and stir until they're coated.
  3. With a spatula, remove the almonds from the saucepan onto the baking sheet, forming an even layer. Let cool and harden completely, then remove from the baking sheet, breaking any clumps that have formed.

Followed recipe as written; did not work at all. There is *way* too much water to form a thick enough caramel, and too much of everything for the amount of nuts. I regret using this recipe immensely. I am currently trying to salvage the nuts in the oven, and will be very sad if they all end up ruined because of this
