This recipe is from my great-grandmother, Mammit Laviolette. Growing up, she and Pappit lived behind our house in the countryside of Louisiana. Since pecans were plentiful (hand-picked from our own backyard), Mammit used them to make this special 'candy' which the whole family came to love.
