Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter (salted)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4-1/2 cups whole milk
  • large McIntosh apple chopped 1/4 " dice
Directions
  1. Combine flour and baking powder. Stir to combine. Blend in butter until it resembles coarse corn meal. Stir in one cup of sugar, egg, and enough milk to form a soft dough. Spread half the batter/dough in a buttered, nine inch baking pan. Place apples on top of batter/dough. Top apples with 1 tablespoon sugar. Top with rest of dough/batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes until golden.
