Carol Spawn's fast baked potatoes go in the oven with any meat or fish that takes 1/2 an hour or more.
Put some foil to cover the pan. Sprinkle celery salt on the foil. Split the potato from top to bottom in whichever lengthwise cut gives you the flattest pieces. Spread soft butter (or whatever you use as bread spread) on the cut surfaces, and lay the potatoes butter side down on the pan. Stick the pan in the oven with whatever else you are cooking, and as long as the potatoes cook at least half an hour, you can leave them in till the meat is done. Serve them buttered side up, and they look quite attractive. Easy peasy. —Mizloo
