Spiced sweet and tart apple cider + fresh whipped cream + salty caramel. It’s super easy to make and such a fall treat to drink. You can make it in the crock pot and keep it on low or mix on the stove top if you need it to come together quickly. —simmering essence

Ingredients
-
64 ounces
Unfiltered Apple
-
1/4 cup
Orange Juice
-
2
Cinnamon Sticks
-
1 teaspoon
Whole Cloves
-
1/8 teaspoon
Grated Nutmeg
-
1
Jar Salted Caramel Sauce
-
1 cup
Heavy Cream
-
2 tablespoons
Powered Sugar
-
1/2 teaspoon
Vanilla
Directions
-
Set your crock pot to high and add the apple juice, orange juice, cinnamon sticks, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, and ¼ cup of the caramel sauce. Give it a stir to dissolve the caramel into the juice. Let it cook for 2 hours on high, then turn to low for 1 hour. OR Stove top: Mix the juices, spices, and ¼ cup of caramel sauce in a large pot over medium high heat. When it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low and let simmer until ready to use.
-
In a medium bowl use a handheld mixer to whisk the heavy cream until just thickened. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla and whisk on medium speed until medium peaks form–you want to see them hold their shape with the peak drooping down.
-
When ready to serve, discard the cinnamon sticks, allspice, cloves, and nutmeg (if you used the pieces).
-
Warm up your caramel sauce. Fill mugs with apple cider, a lovely spoonful of whipped cream, and a drizzle of the caramel sauce.
