The microwave is the *absolute* best way to make mashed potatoes. Cook, serve, store, and reheat them all in the same dish— and pop it in the dishwasher when you’re done! Enjoy with gravy for special occasions (Grandma-approved for Thanksgiving) or midweek dinners.

medium potatoes, washed and peeled, cut in large pieces

4 tablespoons
unsalted butter

1 cup
milk, half-and-half or heavy cream

salt, to taste

pepper, to taste
Directions

Place the potato pieces in a Large Anyday dish. Cover with the lid (knob lifted).

Cook in the microwave for 10 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

Add the remaining ingredients to the hot potatoes. With a potato masher, whisk, or fork, mash the potatoes. Season generously with salt and black pepper and serve immediately.
