How Food52 Does Oscars
For fun, we found 10 killer recipes we thought embodied this year's Best Picture nominees, in consultation with our videographer Elena Parker (who's actually seen all the films). Should they be served together? Probably not. For things you'd actually want to eat together, check out these 15 Classy Oscar Snacks.

Given that I'm a huge fan of Danny Woodrell I probably should have come up with a recipe for West Table, MO Methcakes. Go see "Winter's Bone", but read the book first. Dan's a really nice guy and he's a writer that other writers read.

OMG. I'm slightly embarrassed that thing will be floating around here for eternity...but I'm glad it still gives people chuckles. :) What is Winter's Bone? Must go google now.

1: "The Fighter": Champagne with Blood Orange Juice
2. "The King's Speech": Smoked Turkey and Stilton Chutney tea sandwiches on buttermilk chive biscuits.
3. "Inception": Parisienne Cafe' Pepper Crusted Steak on garlic crostade with horseradish creme fraiche
4. "The Kids Are All Right": Mom's Veggie Special - Mushrooms stuffed with eggplant and gorgonzola
5. "True Grit": Grilled Stuffed jalapenos
6. "Black Swan": Black and White bean dips and vegetable crudite
7: "127 Hours": Spicy Nuts Trail Mix

We punted on Toy Story 3 and Winter's Bone with some cheap (Winter's Bone) and kid friendly (TS3) chips and 5 layer dip.

Baltimore, MD - 7:00 PM. I'm making the white bean dip with caramelized onions that Amanda made a few weeks ago. I'm waiting for a Food52 "best jalapeno recipe" - the stuffed jalapenos rock!
