Urgent! Can I substiture a chuck roast or other meat for the ribs?

I have a question about the recipe "Short Rib Ragu" from Minimally Invasive.

Yes, I think a chuck roast would be fine here. I made a pot roast recently with essentially the same gravy and it turned out great.
