Did you notice that on a commercial bottle of Heinz etc. It says TOMATO ketchup? There are many different varieties. You could make: apple ketchup, blackberry, mushroom, lemon, walnuts and many others. A couple years ago, my little girl saw those words on the bottle and immediately asked about it. She noticed that tomato was a kind on the pkg. (my little smartie) So we googled all the kinds of ketchup for a report she had in school.
I love makeing ketchup, too. My favorite ketchup recipe is my own, which I just posted (it seemed easier than typing it in here). It's a fresh tomato ketchup recipe, perfect as we head toward high tomato season this summer.
