A question about a recipe: Corn Tamales with Swiss Chard

I have a question about the recipe "Corn Tamales with Swiss Chard" from thirschfeld. Can these be steamed as "patties"? We love these, but I don't have time to soak husks, wrap and tie. Please advise. Buon appetito!

The husks prevent the tamales from drying out, so you'd want some kind of covering. I've never tried it, but I bet parchment paper would be a good substitute.
