Defrosted chicken in the sink last night but then put it in the fridge. Is it safe to use today?

I think it would depend on how warm your kitchen is but, having said that, if you cook it thoroughly at a reasonably high temperature (say 200°C/400°F/180ºC fan/gas 6) that should kill any bacteria and make it safe.
