An adaptable cake recipe I can add (matcha) flavoring to?

I want to make a matcha cake and can't really find a recipe from a reputable source, so I was going to adapt another one. I was thinking about using a basic yellow cake recipe but was wondering if there would be something more well suited? Thanks!

I think Mrs. Larkin has done a bit of baking with macha. You could try to message her.

Probably compatible:
Regular chocolate or pound cake;
Sponge cake, plain or with orange juice and rind.
