Should the red rice be cooked before hand?

Hi! Should the red rice be cooked beforehand or is it cooked during along with the beans?

No, the rice cooks in the stock mixture along with the beans. The beans get a 20 minute head start, since they take a bit longer to cook. Then you add in the raw rice and continue cooking another 20 minutes- which is about all the rice needs to cook to doneness.
