Has anyone made this cake in anything other than a tube pan? Perhaps a regular round pan? I don't have a tube pan for Passover

If you try any of the ad hoc workarounds (add in a glass jar or temporary metal sleeve) make sure to address the important part of the tube pan: its ability to be flipped upside down during cooling.

This prevent the sponge cake from losing height during the cooling process.

In any case, OP seems to have avoid wrangling with this problem as she has sourced a loaner pan from a friend. My comment is for anyone else who ends up with this issue.

Haven’t done that; think sponge cake needs the air in the middle to cook through.
Thekitchn site has a good article on Bundt and tube pans. See that for more help.
Also think about mcgyvering a tube pan by inserting an oven proof glass jar or metal round tub into a cake pan before pouring in batter.
Good luck.

I was thinking that's why it needed the tube pan but I'm not much of a baker so I wasn't sure. I actually just found a friend who is going to lend me their passover tube pan so I'm very excited to try it. Thanks for the speedy reply

PS For those who might need it, Michael Ruhlman (in book, Ratio) also recommends using a cocotte to make an ad-how tube pan. Cited in another article on thekitchn site.
