A question about a recipe: Aretha Frankenstein's Waffles of Insane Greatness

I don't own a waffle iron - what about making these as pancakes? Will it work, and will it be worth it?

I think it would be worth it. They may be more like crisp-shelled crepes than traditional, doughier buttermilk pancakes but I bet they'll be good.
