This is a old family recipe that I came across in Florida. It has become a favorite for the holidays and potlucks. —littlemom25
Ingredients
- Topping

1 cup
brown sugar

1/3 cup
butter, softened

1/2 cup
pecan pieces
- Sweet Potato

3 cups
canned yams

1 cup
sugar

2
eggs
-
1/2 cup
evaporated milk

1/2 teaspoon
salt

1 teaspoon
vanilla

1 teaspoon
cinnamon
Directions
- Topping

Mix all of topping ingredients and set aside.
- Sweet Potato

In a medium saucepan stir all ingredients over low heat until well mixed and sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and pour into a casserole dish. Top with pecan mixture and bake in oven at 300 degrees F for one hour, until bubbly and browned. Serve hot.
