To maximize summer enjoyment and minimize travel stress, plan ahead and pack snacks (actually, that’s a blanket statement for life in general). If you have the time, make your own -- things like beef jerky and trail mix travel remarkably well. Not into beef? Give salmon jerky a whirl.
Fresh fruit is always a safe bet, particularly the kinds with their own natural packaging, like bananas and oranges. If you’re into savory snacks, try roasted chickpeas.
