Right now, it's Salad Sevillana (recipe is on epicurious). I use turkey bacon and sometimes no meat at all. And the dressing goes with so many other things. I think I've eaten it 4 times this week, at least.

my mom's 'summer salad'. perfect when all the best produce is rolling in. sliced tomatoes, red onion, cukes and green peppers with sour cream and salt and pepper- nothing else. could not be simpler. just let it marinate a bit. the veg will release some juices that combine with the sour cream. i'm drooling!

I'm a raw veggie lover thanks to my parents and their garden. So, my favorite salad is literally loads of veggies. Spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, sweet peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, beets, and maybe some green olives. Oil and vinegar, salt and pepper. Boom.

My favorite salad only has five ingredients: Garlic, Salt, Olive Oil, Half of a Lemon and Green Leaf Lettuce

Honestly, it's the Northern Spy's Kale Salad found on your website (http://food52.com/recipes/15584-northern-spy-s-kale-salad). It changed my view on raw kale salads completely. I modified it a bit w/ balsamic vinegar instead of lemon juice & loaded it with more oven roasted veggies. I served it to my co-workers and I gave the recipe out & got rave compliments from their family. It was my first recipe from this website and after that I KNEW this would be a great resource of recipes.

I was never a fan of quinoa until I made Cook's Illustrated's quinoa salad with red bell pepper, jalepeno, cilantro and a dijon vinaigrette. The flavors complement each other extraordinarily well. The fresh but also warming nature of the salad is something to write home about, and in my case I did :) It is a perfect college recipe in that it can be made in big batches and eaten over the week, as the flavors continue to marinate and achieve even greater rock star status!

Top it all off with a bit of cheese and a handful of fresh herbs with a bit of olive oil and vinegar, salt and pepper. Mmm, salad!

My favorite salad for picnics has to be hands down Broccoli Slaw with Pineapple and Mandarin Oranges. 4 ingredients: Prepackaged Broccoli Slaw, canned crushed pineapple (drained) and mandarine oranges (drained). Add Marie's Coleslaw dressing and whola! instant deliciousness!

I'm obsessed with the Northern Spy Genius Kale Salad. I've made it so much this winter that my boyfriend has started rolling his eyes when he sees the butternut squash in the groceries. Favorite salad is hands-down one that I've recreated from a local Greek diner. It's relatively simple: romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, olives, feta cheese and red pepper. The magic comes in the grilled chicken that I add (I asked the diner which spices they use in theirs) and with oiled & grilled pita that I add on the side. I toss it in a lemon tahini dressing. Yum!

My favorite salad for the past year or so has been a RIF on the "Magical Kale Salad" that Mei Mei Street Kitchen (Boston) makes. It's curly kale dressed with only rice vinegar and oil, salt and pepper. It's topped with a poached-then-quickly-seared-egg and garlic panko bread crumbs. When I make it at home I add cilantro, avocado and cucumber. But Mei Mei's version is fantastic!

This is a difficult one; part of what makes a salad so enjoyable, is mixing it up every time (no pun intended). If you're feeling like beans or grains, fresh fruit or summer vegetables, even winter squash and greens, it all counts as a salad. My favorite is a late fall salad, with fresh shredded kale or rainbow chard, tossed with a handful's worth just slightly overripe anjou pear. A few slices of parmigiano-reggiano or a sharp pecorino tossed in, maybe even some beets or a disc or two of pancetta. A few toasted walnuts, honeyed with a touch of cayenne, that's heaven right there.

ottolenghi and tamimi's baby spinach salad with dates and almonds is such a dreamy, perfect salad. but in full disclosure, more times that not, i usually throw together what's in the crisper drawer, add some nuts/seeds, some fresh herbs, a hard boiled egg and call it lunch!

I am obsessed with the Old Town Salad at The Natural Cafe in Santa Barbara. If you're ever in the area, order it with sautéed tofu and tahini dressing! There's nothing like it!

In the spirit of Food52, salads without recipes are the best salads. I love mixed greens with whatever berries on hand, a sprinkling of cheese (I like shredded gruyere), and some type of candied nut. A simple vinaigrette will do the trick, but playing around with different flavored balsamics will truly elevate the dish!

Brown some butter, whisk in a little maple syrup and pour over cauliflower, then roast. Toss the charred cauliflower with greens, dates and walnuts and add a bit of vinegar, like cider or champagne. This has been my favorite salad for a very long time!

If I'm craving a salad after a long time in a place with limited fresh produce (usually exactly what I crave after a couple weeks abroad): I grab some romaine for crunch, spinach, carrots, thinly sliced red onion, chopped bell peppers, chickpeas, tomatoes, sharp cheddar, chopped well with blue cheese dressing thinned out with some milk and crushed salted nuts or seeds for crunch.

Wow what a beautiful set of serving spoons, they would be such a compliment to my favorite salad! Massaged kale with avocado, dried cranberries, pistachios all tossed with a lemon and honey vinigertte. Juice of 1/2 lemon, tsp honey, TB evoo, S&P, wisk it all together and there's your dressing! Sometimes I crumble some tortilla chips on top!
