Big News: We’re Creating Our Own Line...With You!

Dear Food52ers,

We have a big update, and it involves you—all of you!

A few years ago, we launched our Shop so Food52 could be a place not only to connect with other people who love to cook and gather around food, but also a place to discover the very best tools, serving pieces, and decor for your kitchen and home.

Since then, we’ve expanded our original assortment of 80 products to more than 2000 (!). We’ve hunted down the very best spatulas, heirloom-worthy serving dishes, and ever-handy dryer balls (a best seller + a name that still cracks us up).

You’ve given us feedback at every step: on what brought you joy and what you wanted to return, what you pined for in a larger size or a different color, and what you like to buy as gifts for your friends. We’ve paid close attention.

You may have noticed that we’ve brought on many products that are exclusive to Food52 (like these oven mitts and these vases). We’ve even done some wonderful product collaborations with our talented makers. It’s taken us time to develop these kinds of deep relationships and know how to move into the next step.

Now we're ready to develop our own line of Food52 kitchen and home goods. And we're so excited to do it with you.

Just as we wanted you to have a say in the recipes and content on the site, we want you to be a part of the products we make. How many times have you brought home something and thought, "If only it had handles and was an inch narrower..." or, "Gah, why did they make this measuring cup so hard to clean!"? Now's your chance to be heard, and to have a hand in creating something with us. Let’s build a line of dream kitchen and home products together.

We’ll start slowly and learn together as we go. We’ll be asking you questions, like: “Does your ideal tumbler have thin or thick glass?”; “Do you prefer a wide, shallow bowl for pasta and soup, or a deeper one?”; and “What color candles have you been yearning for to outfit your table?”. We want to get these products right: handsome, timeless goods that will enhance your home and last a lifetime.

We’ll be in touch very soon to share our first product concept and gather your impressions, thoughts, and feedback. We may ask you to vote or comment on Facebook or Instagram (follow along with #f52byyou); query you through our emails and in posts like this one; or create a Hotline thread—or all of the above.
