Adorable Goats, Caramel, and the Weather

If you need a dose of Feel Good injected into your Monday, look no further than Farm Weather — the sweet-as-pie blog from homemade caramel makers Louisa and Lucas of Big Picture Farms in Vermont. Their ethos is to integrate argiculture with storytelling because they believe that the flavor of any food is deepened by an awareness of its provenance, and they put a lot of effort into letting us get to know (and completely fall in love with) the goats that provide the milk that goes into their tasty, toothy treats. For example, this is Twig, when she is at a mere 14 hours of age and already in possession of "the soul of a grandma":

Shop the Story

Their stories aren't limted to the goats, though, we also get to know the property's resident guards, Lola and Elvis:

And in case that isn't adorable enough for you yet, here are some goats stacked in a barn:

But lest we forget the mission statement of the farm (which actually isn't how cute the goats are, though that's difficult to ignore), make sure to browse their online store for made-to-order goodies. Our caramel treat of choice would proably be Wooden Gift Box, which includes forty goat milk caramels with sea-salt and a hint of pure bourbon vanilla. No kidding!

Cassie loves to cook, eat, and then write about it. She can't resist anything with sweet potatoes, but if she had to pick one food for the rest of her life it might be avocado. (She changes her mind a lot.) She also believes that anything will taste better on a tortilla, and that tacos are the premier food of summertime. You can catch her reading Calvin & Hobbes on the stoop of her apartment, or on the roof in her garden. Say hello!

Oh I loved this blog and the goats. They are so cute..It reminds me of a picture of mine where I wanted to pose with a goat, so my parents had to look for a goat (seriously) and make the goat stand beside me. You can see very well in the picture, my angry silly mood. I am nostalgic..thanks for the post. I wish I could show that pic..

This is the last F52 "gawk" of my day before I go home, and it just made my afternoon, seeing all those cute goats (the mission statement is duly noted as well!)!

It's like Canal House Lunch if the Canal House ladies were tiny goats instead of humans!
