Slow-Cooked Apple Butter

In Slate's most recent "You're Doing It Wrong" piece, they provide tips on how to put all of those apples you've picked to good use: make apple butter. Slow cook this fall favorite to perfection to spread over toast or spice up your oatmeal, or, more importantly, can all of your apple butter for thoughtful gifts. Perish the thought of rotting fruit post iconic fall outing, and inhale the sweet scent of it turned into a warm butter.
