Welcome to the Food52 x Kikkoman Tournament of Teriyaki! We're excited to see your genius recipes featuring Kikkoman® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce. Share your creative grilling recipes for a chance to win up to $5,000!

1. Submit Your Photo and Statement via Typeform:

• Take a photo (“Photo”) of your grilling recipe which features Kikkoman® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce. - Your Photo should be taken by you, original (no AI shortcuts), look appetizing and beautiful, like something you’d see on a top food website or magazine. We'd love to see the bottle of Kikkoman® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce if you can include it in the photo, though not mandatory.
• Write a brief statement (100 to 300 words) (“Statement”) describing your recipe. Include the big idea or story behind it, the main ingredients and steps, what makes it brilliantly creative, and how Kikkoman® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce enhances the dish. We don’t need an actual recipe, just a paragraph that brings it to life.

2. Recipe Requirements:

• Your recipe idea must use Kikkoman® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce.
• Your recipe must reflect the grilling theme.

All entry information, Photos, Statements, recipes, and ideas shall be collectively referred to herein as the “Submissions” or each as a “Submission.” Submissions must comply with the Guidelines and Restrictions defined below. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify this Contest in the event an insufficient number of entries are received that meet the minimum Judging Criteria stated in these Official Rules.

Limit one (1) Submission per person/per email address. All entrants must have a valid email address. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, stolen, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, misdirected, technically corrupted or garbled entries, which will be disqualified, or for problems of any kind whether mechanical, human, or electronic.

By entering, each entrant agrees that his or her Submission conforms to the Recipe Guidelines and Content Restrictions as defined below (collectively, the “Guidelines and Restrictions”) and that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may remove any Submission and disqualify an entrant from the Contest if it believes, in its sole discretion, that the entrant’s Submission fails to conform to the Guidelines and Restrictions.

• You must be at least 18 years of age or older to enter. No purchase is required.
• You may only submit recipes that are your own. If your recipe was inspired by another source, tell us how you changed it. Plagiarism is not allowed.
• Recipes cannot have previously won a contest or other promotion.
• Recipes must be in English. List all ingredients in common U.S. household measurements in order of use. Recipes cannot include ingredients that are considered illegal in any U.S state.
• Entries must be submitted by individuals, not by teams.

• The Submission (including the recipe and recipe name) must not contain material that violates or infringes any rights of any other party, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or any other intellectual property rights;
• The Submission must not in any disparage Sponsor or any other person or party;
• The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous;
• The Submission must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age; and
• The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations of the United States or of any jurisdiction where Submission is created.
• The Submission cannot promote illegal drugs or firearms (or the use of any of the foregoing), or any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message;
• The Submission must be consistent with the image and values of Sponsor and be consistent with and satisfy the purpose of the Contest.

Each entrant acknowledges that other entrants may have used ideas and/or concepts in their Submission that may be similar in idea or concept to what is included in entrant’s Submission. Each entrant understands and agrees that he/she shall not have any claim against any other entrant or Sponsor arising out any such similarity or be entitled to any compensation because of any such similarity.

Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest, including, but not limited to, interpretation and application of these Official Rules. By submitting a Submission, you agree to abide by these Official Rules and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations that govern the contest as well as the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for our website. This contest is void where prohibited by law.

The contest is open to legal residents of the 48 contiguous United States (including District of Columbia) aged 18 years or over. The following individuals are not eligible to win the contest: (a) employees, officers or directors of (i) Kikkoman Sales USA Inc. (“Kikkoman” or “Sponsor”) or its related companies, (ii) Food52, (iii) Sponsor’s vendors, and suppliers, importers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers and, in each case, any of its or their respective affiliates, printers, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies or any other company or individual involved in the creation, development, or implementation of the contest; and (b) any members of their immediate families (spouse, parents and step-parents, siblings and step-siblings, and children and step-children) or households (people who share the same residence at least three (3) months out of the year). Entries for the contest must be received prior to the expiration of the contest period. This contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. VOID IN ALASKA, HAWAII AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. By submitting an entry, entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations that govern the contest.

Contest begins at 12:00 pm Eastern Time on July 22, 2024 and ends at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time on August 12, 2024 (“Contest Period”).

On or about August 13, 2024, all eligible Submissions will be judged by Food52 and Sponsor. All Submissions will be judged based on the following equally weighted judging criteria (“Judging Criteria”): (a) creativity, (b) use of Kikkoman Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce, and (c) overall appeal of the Photo and Statement. The Judging Panel will select four (4) Finalists who will be eligible for the Public Voting Contest.

The four (4) Finalists’ Submissions will be posted on Food52’s Instagram (@food52) to be voted on by the public during the public voting period (“Public Voting Period”), which begins on August 28, 2024 at 12:00PM ET and ends on August 31, 2024 at 12:00PM ET (the "Public Voting Period").

Food52 will publish a poll on its Instagram account (@food52) via stories. Voters can vote for a Finalist Submission by voting for a Submission based on the following public voting criteria: the recipe that they are most excited to make at home on the grill. Each voter is limited to one (1) vote per recipe bracket throughout the Public Voting Period. Multiple voters are not permitted to share the same account or email address. Any attempt by any voter to submit more than the stated number of votes by using multiple/different email addresses, identities or any other method will void that voter’s vote. The use of robotic or automatic devices for voting is prohibited, and Sponsor reserves the right to nullify any and all such votes and to disqualify from voting the responsible individual. Entrants are prohibited from obtaining votes by any fraudulent or inappropriate means, including engaging in vote-farming or vote-exchanges or offering prizes or other inducements to members of public, as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion and Sponsor reserves the right to nullify any and all such votes and to disqualify from Contest the responsible entrant. The Submission with the highest number of votes at the end of the Public Voting Period will be deemed the potential Grand Prize winner. The Submission with the next highest number of votes will be deemed the potential Second Place winner and the Submission with the next highest number of votes will be deemed the potential Third Place winner. Each winner’s status will be subject to confirmation including compliance with these Official Rules. In the event of a tie, Food52 will publish an additional poll on its Instagram account (@food52) via stories for the tiebreaker.

All eligible voters will be entered into a random drawing to win one Kikkoman® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce prize pack and a Food52 Apron (“Random IG Polls Voter Prize”). Voters will be contacted via Instagram direct message.

• Random IG Polls Voter: One Kikkoman® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce prize pack and a Food52 Apron. Approximate Retail Value: $45.00

Total approximate retail value of all prizes combined: $9,545. Cash prizes will be funded by Food52. Prizes are non-transferable and no substitutions will be made except as provided herein at the sponsor’s sole discretion. In the case of unavailability of any prize, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater. All taxes and unspecified expenses are the responsibility of winners.

On or about September 4, 2024, potential winners will be notified by email and may be announced on Food52’s website and social media platforms. Potential winners may be required to sign and return, where legal, an Affidavit or Declaration of Eligibility, Liability/Publicity Release and/or rights transfer document within seven (7) calendar days of prize notification. If any potential winner is considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, Affidavit or Declaration of Eligibility, Liability/Publicity and rights transfer document must be signed by his/her parent or legal guardian. If any potential winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) calendar days of first notification attempt, if any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, if any potential winner rejects his/her prize or in the event of noncompliance with these Contest rules and requirements, such prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to the Submission with the next highest score. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.

1. Rights Granted by You: By entering this contest, you grant Food52 and Kikkoman the perpetual right to use, reproduce, modify, publish, create derivative works from, and display your Submission in whole or in part, on a worldwide basis, and to incorporate it into other works, in any form, media or technology now known or later developed, including but not limited to on any and all Internet media, including Sponsor’s web sites and properties and on social networking sites (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X/Twitter etc.), for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation. Participation in Contest and/or acceptance of prize constitutes each winner’s permission for Sponsor to use his/her name, address (city and state), likeness, photograph, picture, portrait, voice, biographical information, Submission and/or any statements made by each winner regarding the Contest or Sponsor for advertising and promotional purposes without notice or additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
2. General Conditions: Sponsor and Food 52 reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, extend, or suspend this contest should (in their sole discretion) virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, epidemics, pandemics or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Contest. In such case, Sponsor will select the winners from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds, in its sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or web site.
3. Release/Limitation of Liability: By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless Food52, Kikkoman, Instagram and their advertising and promotion agencies and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors (collectively, “Released Entities”), from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with, preparation for, travel to, or participation in Contest, or possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any Contest-related activity and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, trademark infringement or any other intellectual property-related cause of action.
4. Disputes: This contest is governed by the laws of the United States, and any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of New York.
5. Privacy: Information submitted with an entry is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on the Food52 website.

1. Proof of Submission: Proof of submission of an entry does not constitute proof of receipt of entry by Sponsor or its agents. Sponsor reserves the right to void all entries made through any third-party website or service, or through any robotic, automatic, mechanical, programmed or similar entry duplication method, and to disqualify any individual using such a website/service or entry method. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.
2. Agreement to Official Rules: By participating in the contest, entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to and accepts these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and legally binding in all matters related to the contest. Such decisions include but are not limited to whether an entrant’s entry is in compliance with these Official Rules and is eligible for the contest. By participating and/or accepting a prize, entrants, winners, and guests acknowledge and agree that this contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and agree to release and hold harmless Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, Sponsor, Sponsor’s advertising and promotional agencies, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, equity holders, agents, consultants, independent contractors, successors, assigns, employees, managers, officers, directors and other representatives from any and all liability for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost, or expense whatsoever, including, without limitation, property damage, personal injury, and/or death that may occur in connection with, preparation for, travel to, or participation in the contest, or possession, acceptance, and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any contest-related activity, including, but not limited to, any claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy, and merchandise delivery.
3. Use of Entries: Entering an entry in the contest grants Sponsor and its designees the right to use, publish, adapt, edit and/or modify an entry in any way, in whole or in part, and to use such entry, and any ideas or concepts contained therein, in commerce and in any and all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide, without limitation or compensation to the entrant and without right of notice, review or approval of any such use of the entry.
4. Taxes: All local, state and federal taxes incurred by accepting a prize will be the sole responsibility of the winner. Any person winning over US$600.00 in prizes from Sponsor during any one (1) year period will receive an IRS Form 1099 at the end of the calendar year, and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS. Governing Law: All disputes and questions regarding the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or concerning the rights and obligations of any participant and/or Food52 and/or the Sponsor, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than New York. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any provision of these Official Rules is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these Official Rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained there.
