A fine kettle of fish.
Made from heavy gauge copper, this kettle features brass handles held with copper rivets and a lifting rack. Both the lid and pan are marked with the word “Helvetia” with Swiss and British flag -- the copper came from Switzerland but these pieces were made in England. The pan itself each is stamped with “Leon Jaeggi & Sons manufacturing coppersmiths of London and Staines” -- a maker's mark that shows its history.
It's an unusual size that's perfect for poaching fish -- and it's one of the most beautiful pieces on our kitchen shelves.
